Many factors can interfere with how your import car handles and operates as well as the driving quality.   Asian or European auto repair and maintenance are very important to uphold and maintain. There are steps that you should take in order to keep your vehicle in tip-top shape.

First and foremost, make sure that you utilize your car’s operating/owner’s manual.  Most cars come with them but if you have a used, older model you may have to search online or contact the dealer in order to retain one.  Once you have it check it out.  It will inform you of vehicle maintenance and repair and of specific parts that the car might need throughout its life with you including oil type, tire information, and the likes.  The manual is a helpful tool if you are not familiar with the car you are driving.

Secondly, if possible develop a relationship with your local mechanic or whoever works on your car.  This could be helpful as problems arise.  Also, if you have that established relationship you are more likely to get deals and the truth about what your car actually needs not what it could need in order to fix it.  Also, your mechanic will more than likely follow the manual for the best auto repair.

Third, make sure that you are observant while using your car daily.   Be aware of any changes in steering, specific smells, and interior lights that may come on to let you know that something could be wrong.  Other issues that you as the driver will be able to spot, while driving is air pressure in your tire, if your car veers off to one side or another, jerky-ness in the steering column, shaking after reaching a certain speed, break resistance or lack of resistance, or smoke emitting from the hood, muffler, or other parts of the vehicle.  If any of these signs form, it is time to get your import car checked by a professional.

Along with the visible signs that could trigger auto repair is leaks.  If you notice puddles under your vehicle then you need to get your vehicle checked immediately.  This could indicate a crack or hole in your gas line, an oil leak, or antifreeze spillage.  Also, watch for the color of any spills, keep descriptions in mind, it will be helpful when describing the issues to your mechanic.  For example, black, green, or red spills could each mean something different.

Basically, if anything seems out of the ordinary report it to your mechanic. It will save your vehicle in the long run knowing when basic or extensive auto repair is needed.  It will save you from the stress and give your vehicle a longer running life.  Ultimately that is what all drivers want, a longer life span on their luxury vehicle due to proper import auto repair and maintenance.
