Reasons You Don’t Want To Drive A BMW

Wednesday, February 11th, 2009

Surprise! There are lots of great reasons NOT to drive a BMW.  Is this you?

  1. You don’t want to have fun driving.  The Ultimate Driving Experience is of no interest to you.  The last thing you want to experience is the thrill of the zoom.
  2. Reason two:  You don’t want people to think you’re successful. Life is hard enough without everyone being jealous.  Why cause trouble by showing up at your high school reunion in a car that says, “I’m really doing well.”
  3. You’re a militant vegan and cannot stomach the use of leather.
  4. You don’t like things that exceed your expectations.  Not being disappointed is disappointing.
  5. You don’t want to hand down such a nice car.  No teenage driver deserves to start with such a nice vehicle.  It makes much more sense to give them something big, slow, and  ugly (they’re going to scratch it anyway).
  6. You prefer going slow in the curves.  Trudging is your preferred mode of motoring and your favorite television commercial involves turtles with a phobia for anything fast.
  7. You don’t like Germany.
  8. You get bored easily.  The thought of driving the same car year after year sounds torturous so you’ve come to look forward to the complete system breakdown that occurs every time you’ve paid off the loan.
  9. You are highly suspicious by nature.  High performance and exquisite comfort cannot possible be combined with fuel efficiency and economy.  Someone must be doing something illegal.
  10. Stuck on the Germany thing.  What’s your problem?  Is it the soccer/football issue?

Is there really a reason someone wouldn’t want their car referred to as sporty, sleek, shiny, and stylish?  Who can poo poo precision handling and a posh interior?  Tremendous torque, heinous amounts of horsepower, and squeal inducing speed, all standard equipment on a BMW.
